Our Origin Story
Fox & Feathers was founded on the recognition that most mental health and support services feel generic, transactional, or disconnected from the lived experiences of diverse communities—especially Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and other historically marginalized folx.
Owned and operated by Indigenous, 2SLGBTQIA+, neurodivergent mothers, we bring both lived experience and professional expertise to every conversation and empower our clinicians to do the same. Our trauma-informed, culturally grounded approach provides practical, real-world strategies for growth, clarity, and well-being. At Fox & Feathers, we don’t just deliver services: we create spaces where folx can thrive and engage in authentic, transformative work.
The Meaning Behind Our Name
The name Fox & Feathers reflects both our personal journey and our aspirations as a company. It honors our Indigenous heritage while celebrating who we are as individuals, partners, and parents. The fox came to us during our journey to motherhood with our daughter, symbolizing adaptability and wisdom, while the eagle watched over us during the birth of our son, representing vision and guidance.
The colors and circular design are inspired by the medicine wheel, grounding us in Indigenous ways of healing. The two feathers represent the two-spirit identity and honor our connection to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, an integral part of who we are.
Through Fox & Feathers, we are committed to serving the communities that shaped us while providing equitable, culturally informed services.
